So sad to hear of Matt's passing. We worked together for years at Ammann & Whitney and he was such a kind and gentle sole. Always professional and a pleasure to work with and know! He is missed.

My first meeting with Matthew was on a jobsite at LaGuardia Airport in 2004. Through all the project with Ammann & Whitney we became close, and I was not aware when it turned into friendship. He was not only amazing professional personnel, but a never-failing friend. I will always miss him.

I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Matt over the last several years at WSP. Matt was a wonderful person to interact with as he always had a positive outlook on life and I've always heard the passion in his voice when speaking about projects he was working on. He will be deeply missed by the WSP family. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Sincerely,
Katherine Phan

Matt will be deeply missed by those of us at the JFK Resident Engineers Office. He was a dedicated colleague who was passionate about his work. Matt's professionalism was equally matched by his personal warmth for those of us he interacted with in business. Although no longer present, the memory of a beloved associate will be cherished. May the promise of eternal life be of comfort to Matt's family and friends during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Harry Armand

I worked with Matt on one project at Ammann & Whitney inspecting some structures at a school. He was always so calm and in a good mood. He would say hello everytime he would see me at the office. This is a sad day for everyone who knows him. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I've only worked with Matt on several projects, since in 2018 we moved into the Morton Street office. But on working with him it was evident how knowledgeable he was. He was very professional and kind. We at WSP shall miss him very much.

I've known Matt ever since he joined Ammann & Whitney 15-plus years ago. I was in my mid 20's and still very new to how things worked in our industry. It wasn't long after he joined that I was given the opportunity to work closely with him on projects. He had his own way of doing things, but I eventually understood exactly how he liked things done. I learned so much over that time, and with his help, patience, and trust in me, I grew into a valuable member of his team. We got to the point that I knew exactly what he wanted to see done and he afforded to me more responsibilities. Eventually, I pretty much worked on every job he assigned to. Over the last couple of years, it became more difficult for him to travel to job sites. So I was now his eyes and ears on the ground but it was never a problem. I knew now how Matt wanted things done and I became an extension of him in the field. I'm very fortunate that I got the opportunity to work with him all these years. I will always be thankful for the positive impact he's had on me. Most importantly, whenever I think of him I'll see that smile he always gave me! Rest in peace, my friend.
Sincerely
Nick da Rosa
