Obituary of Virginia Stimpert

Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Virginia (Rohr) Stimpert died Friday, April 28, 2023, at her home in Edison surrounded by her loving family.  She was 87.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she moved to Edison in 1948.  She graduated from New Brunswick High School and was a registered nurse at Middlesex General Hospital (now Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital) in New Brunswick.  Later she became a real estate agent and worked for several years at Rabin and Harrington Realtors in Edison.

Mrs. Stimpert served on the Edison Township Committee as Vice Chairwoman.  She was an avid bowler and an excellent cook.  She enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City and vacationing in Wildwood crest with her family.  Most of all she prided herself in being a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband Paul F. Stimpert in 2019; and by two brothers, Frank and Richard Rohr.  Surviving are her daughter Paula Ungerleider and husband Henry of Edison;  sister-in-law Jean Rohr of Somerset; grandson Michael and wife Alexandra, granddaughter Erica; great-grandchildren Samantha, Matthew, Nicholas and Jacob; close loving friend Cindy who was like a granddaughter to her; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick with a funeral service to be held at 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
