Obituary of Angela Somogyi

Angela Somogyi died Friday, June 30, 2023, at her home in North Brunswick. She was 87. Born in Csot, Hungary to the late Sandor and Erzsebet (Butka) Bors, she immigrated to the United States in 1956. She had lived in New Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick 45 years ago. Angela worked as a beautician for 45 years before retiring 12 years ago from Sellari's Hair Gallery in North Brunswick. Angela was a communicant of St. Ladislaus R.C. Church in New Brunswick and was a member of the Hungarian American Athletic Club in New Brunswick. Her passions included baking and cooking. Spending time with her family brought her the greatest joy. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Somogyi in 2021. Surviving are her daughter Ann Rockenstein and her husband Robert of North Brunswick; her son Charles R. Somogyi and his wife Gia of Kendall Park; four grandchildren – Nicole Macdonald and her husband Brian of Howell, Alexa Rockenstein of Hoboken and Nick and Thomas Somogyi of Kendall Park; and her great grandson Landon Macdonald. Cremation was private. A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at St. Ladislaus R.C. Church, 215 Somerset Street, New Brunswick. Burial of the cremated remains will follow in Princeton Cemetery in Princeton. Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ladislaus Church or the Hungarian American Athletic Club in her name.
