Obituary of Albert L. Fiorino

Albert L. Fiorino died Monday, July 31, 2023, at Francis E. Parker Memorial Home in Piscataway. He was 99.

Born in New Brunswick to the late Santo and Genevieve (Previte) Fiorino, he lived in New Brunswick before moving to Edison in 1956. He was a graduate of New Brunswick High School. He was an inspector for Triangle Conduit and Cable Company in New Brunswick for 25 years then worked in the Sanitation Department of Edison Township for 12 years before retiring in 1987.

Mr. Fiorino was a communicant of Guardian Angels R.C. Church in Edison. He spent many happy hours tending to his garden, sharing his delicious tomatoes and other vegetables with his family and friends. He was an avid New York Mets fan and enjoyed Rutgers basketball and football games.

He enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II and served his country with honor. He saw action in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Herbert, earning a Victory Medal, an Asiatic Pacific Medal with four stars and a Philippian Liberation Ribbon with two stars.

His wife Margaret M. (Ternyila) Fiorino died in 2022. He was also predeceased by his daughter Linda Glenn earlier this year; and by his grandson Kevin B. Glenn. Surviving are his son Albert Wayne Fiorino and his wife Mary of North Brunswick; his son-in-law David Glenn of Fort Mill, South Carolina; five grandchildren – Ryan Glenn and his wife Kim, Katie Stiffler and her husband Brandon, Meghan Mahoney and her husband John Paul, Kaitlyn Bradley and her husband Steven and Matthew Fiorino; and eleven great grandchildren – Sadie and Emily Glenn, Brady and Parker Stiffler, Mary, Breanne, Katherine, Clare and Timothy Mahoney, and Steven and Joseph Bradley.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 9:00 AM Friday, August 4, 2023, from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at Guardian Angels Church in Edison. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation at https://t2t.org.
