Obituary of James R. Williams

James R. Williams died Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at his home in North Brunswick. He was 95.

Born in Frackville, Pennsylvania to the late Owen and Hazel (Amour) Williams, he lived in Rahway before moving to North Brunswick in 1963. He retired in 1991 as a supervisor with General Motors Company in Linden. He had worked for GM for 45 years in Framingham, Massachusetts and Linden.

Mr. Williams was a member of the United Methodist Church at Milltown. And was a member of the St. Bernard's Lodge F. and A.M.

His wife Marjorie L. (Nelson) Williams died in December 2022. Surviving are his son Clifford Williams of Monmouth Junction; his daughter Audrey McCarthy and her husband Robert of McLean, Virginia; three sisters – Shirley Demerest of Wyoming, Gail Pescino of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Judy Tompkins of Maywood; five grandchildren – Craig Williams of Binghamton, New York, Brandon Williams of Jersey City, Brian McCarthy of Sarasota, Florida, Laura Putnam and her husband Michael of Vienna, Virginia and Kevin McCarthy of McLean, Virginia; and two great granddaughters Millie and Charlotte Putnam.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the United Methodist Church at Milltown, 47 North Main Street, Milltown. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in North Brunswick. Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home in North Brunswick.
