Obituary of Mintauts Caune

Mintauts Caune died Sunday, October 22, 2023, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 92.

Born in Kekava, Latvia to the late Peteris and Vera (Kalnins) Caune, he came to the United States in 1950 and resided in East Brunswick since 1960. Mr. Caune graduated from Rutgers University in 1955. He was a construction supervisor for Miesnieks and Stegers in Edison for over 40 years before his retirement in 1996.

Mr. Caune was a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church of East Brunswick and Lakewood as well as the New Jersey Latvian Society.

He was predeceased by his son Egils Caune; and his son-in-law Timothy Howell. Surviving are his wife Ilga (Pinnis) Caune; two daughters – Elga Howell and Laila Caune and her husband Robin Gamble, all of East Brunswick; and three granddaughters – Minta Caune, Kristin Howell and Lily Howell.
