Obituary of Nora Fabiyan

Nora M. (Braun) Fabiyan died peacefully Thursday, November 23, 2023, at her home in Assisted Living at Monroe Village in Monroe Township, NJ. She was 96.

Born in Linden, NJ, Nora lived in Egg Harbor and South River before moving to North Brunswick 75 years ago. She has been a resident in Monroe Village for the last seven years. She was a lifelong Lutheran, active in altar guild and the home bound visitation programs of several different congregations over her lifetime.

Before retiring, Nora worked as a secretary for the Campus Ministry programs at Rutgers University, the American Dental Association and Sapiro Auto Parts, all in New Brunswick NJ. She was an enthusiastic crafter, and many remember her fondly for her handcrafted gifts.

Nora is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John V. Fabiyan, and by her twin brother, John A. Braun.

Nora is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ken Nicholson of Wilmington DE, her sister, Kate G. Hutson of Green Valley, AZ and by a wide circle of extended family including numerous nieces and nephews.

In honoring Nora’s wishes, a private cremation ceremony will be conducted by Selover Funeral Home. Family and friends may gather at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873. A memorial service will begin at 12:30 P.M.
