Obituary of Afife Abode

Afife Attal Abode died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 81. Born in Tyre, Lebanon, she lived most of her life in New Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick 8 years ago. Mrs. Abode worked as a housekeeper for Douglas College in New Brunswick for 15 years before retiring in 1989. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in New Brunswick. Her husband, George Abode died in 1974. Surviving are a son Glen Abode; two daughters Denise Abode and Valerie Abode; a brother Elias Attal; a sister-in-law Helene Abode and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at Sacred Heart RC Church in New Brunswick. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at Sacred Heart Church, 56 Throop Ave, New Brunswick on Monday, January 5 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick.
