Obituary of William D Tallman

William D. Tallman died Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Sunrise Assisted Living in East Brunswick. He was 93. Born in New Brunswick, Bill lived in North Brunswick since 1942. He had worked as a safety supervisor for E.R. Squibb and Sons for 35 years before retiring in 1980. Mr. Tallman was a member of North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Co. #1 where he was honored for 65 years of volunteer service in 2009. He was a member of the East Brunswick Elks Lodge #2370, where he had served as past chaplain and was on the Ritual Team. He was also a member of the Eagles A.C. in New Brunswick, and was a member and past president of both the North Brunswick Pioneers and the Squibb Retirees Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Veronica Darragh Tallman, who died in 1992, and his brother Alfred Tallman and sister Mae Weingart. Surviving are two sons - William A. Tallman and his wife Peggie of Milltown and Robert J. Tallman and his wife JoJo of Hernando, Florida; nine grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 9:00 AM Monday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by a 10:15 AM Mass at Immaculate Conception RC Church in Spotswood. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
