Lena R. Conti Shiffner died Sunday, June 12, 2011, at her home in Edison. She was 86.
Born in Jessup, Pennsylvania, she was a coal miner's daughter. She had lived in New Brunswick before moving to Edison in 1950.
Mrs. Shiffner had worked for Foodtown Supermarket in Metuchen for 27 years before retiring in 1989.
Her husband, George C. Shiffner, died in 1976. Surviving are three daughters - Carol A. Shiffner and Donna M. Shiffner, both of Edison and Barbara L. Owen of Newark, Delaware; a sister Lucy Eckert of North Brunswick; one grandson and three great grandchildren.
Private funeral services were under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick.
