Obituary of Rita M Mauro

Rita M. Staples Mauro died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 72. Born in New Brunswick she had lived in North Brunswick for over 50 years. She had attended Drakes Business School and was a project coordinator at Union Carbide in Bound Brook for 20 years before her retirement in the mid 1990s. She volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels and the North Brunswick Senior Center. Surviving are four sons - Roger Mauro and his wife Susan of Cranbury, Frank Mauro of Millville, Darren Mauro and his wife Jackie of Howell and Bryan Mauro and his wife Betsy of Middletown; a daughter Natalie Elefante and her husband Mike of Hazlet; a brother Russell Staples of Alabama; and nine grandchildren - Cecilia, Emily, Tony, Nathaniel, Zachary, Nicholas, Anthony, Dylan and Aidan. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Private cremation will follow.
