Obituary of Henry E Von Spreckelsen

Henry E. Von Spreckelsen died peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2011, at his home in Edison surrounded by his two daughters and three dogs. He was 86.
Born in New Brunswick, he had lived in Edison for the past 51 years. He had worked for NJ Bell in Woodbridge for 33 years before retiring in 1983.
Mr. Von Spreckelsen was an Eagle Scout and a proud World War II Navy veteran who served in the Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and the New Brunswick Elks.
Predeceased by his wife, Virginia Hartigan Von Spreckelsen, who died in 2005, he is survived by his daughters - Susan Von Spreckelsen and Patricia Tagariello, both of Edison. He also leaves his two loved grandchildren - Troy and Eric Tagariello of South Bound Brook.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08818-3059.
