Obituary of Gary J Godfrey

Gary J. Godfrey died Saturday, September 3, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton. He was 59. Born in New Brunswick he had lived in the New Brunswick area before moving to Trenton 12 years ago. Mr. Godfrey was a senior building maintenance worker for the Middlesex County Board of Social Services in North Brunswick for 22 years before retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Living Hope Church in Trenton. He was predeceased by his parents William and Gertrude Godfrey. Surviving are his wife Catherine Becker Godfrey; three daughters - Sian Godfrey, Kara Scott and her husband John, and Kyle Pickett, all of Trenton; a brother William Godfrey of Highland Park; a sister Margaret Oriole and her husband Bob of Carteret; eight grandchildren - Jacob Godfrey, Telitha Fritzinger, Persephone Scott, Cassandra Scott, Amanda Scott, Bianca Starkweather, Rhiannon Burgess and Joseph Burgess; and a great grandchild Damian Starkweather. A graveside service for the burial of cremains will take place 1:00 PM Wednesday in Van Liew Cemetery, 585 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
