Obituary of Mary L Nelson

Mary L. Nelson died Friday, November 4, 2011, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 79. Born in Jersey City, she had lived in New Brunswick most of her life before moving to North Brunswick two years ago. She was a retired secretary from the New Brunswick Board of Education after more than 25 years of employment. Mrs. Nelson was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle RC Church in New Brunswick. She also was a former New Brunswick Democratic Committee Woman. She was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. She is predeceased by her husband Richard Jay Nelson. She is survived by her children, a son, William R. Nelson and his wife Tomasa of North Brunswick; three daughters, Valerie M. Moreen and her husband Ronald of Somerset, Jaye M. Shawiak and her husband David of North Brunswick and Lori M. Nelson of Randolph; eight grandchildren, Richard Moreen, Ronald Moreen, Rocco Maimone, Kristina Shawiak, Nicole Grana, Keri Maimone, Enver Cortes and Cynthia Cortes; seven great grandchildren, Ashlyn, RJ, Alexandra, J. Jay, Sienna, Anthony and Johnathan; two brothers, William Aldrich of North Brunswick and Kerry Aldrich of New Brunswick. Funeral services will be 10:00AM Wednesday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick, NJ. Burial will follow in Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM.
