Obituary of Weldon E Bloyed

Weldon E. Bloyed died Sunday, December 11, 2011, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 73. Born in O'Donnel, Texas, he had lived in Highland Park before recently moving to Monroe Township. Mr. Bloyed was a veteran of the US Navy and the US Army and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal from the Army. He had worked as a production manager for the Associated Press in Manhattan and East Brunswick before retiring in 1993. He enjoyed going out with a group of his retired friends from work who referred to themselves as "The Romeos". His greatest joy was being involved in the lives and activities of his grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father, Leonard Bloyed. Surviving are his mother Margaret Bloyed of Texas, his wife Mary Bloyed; a son and daughter-in-law Steven and Dawn Bloyed of North Brunswick; a daughter Donna Bloyed of Monroe Township; his grandchildren Julia and Steven, Jr. and his brothers and sisters - Francis McGinnis, Walter Bloyed, Janie Harvey, Clyde Bloyed and Clydette Perkins. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Wednesday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 PM until the time of the service. Cremation will be private. .
