Anton "Tony" Geiger passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011, in Pompano Beach, Florida. He was 82. He was born in Weiler, Germany, where he grew up and later became a carpenter. In 1957 he immigrated to the United States with his wife Marianne to pursue the American dream. In 1960 he started Tony's Home Improvement which he successfully ran for over 50 years. His business success allowed him to later expand into real estate investments. He valued hard work, and remained active in his real estate business well into his 70's. Despite his success, he maintained a modest lifestyle. He loved spending time with his family, gathering with friends and sharing great meals. He loved the outdoors, walking his dogs and was very proud of his German heritage. Tony was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in North Brunswick and Assumption Church in Pompano Beach, FL. He was also a member of the Elks and German-American Club of New Brunswick. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marianne; his niece Michele Hoover and her husband Scott and their children Daniel and Katherine; his nephew Steven Weitz and his wife Lisa and their children Christopher, Thomas and Nicholas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Germany and many friends in both New Jersey and Florida. Funeral services will be 9:15 AM Saturday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick, NJ followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at Our Lady of Peace RC Church. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Friday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
