Obituary of Margaret Ann Salitz

Margaret Ann "Peggy" Salitz, 88, formerly of Phillipsburg, Old Bridge,
Somerset, North Brunswick and New Brunswick, NJ, died peacefully,
Thursday, December 15, 2011, in the VA Memorial Home, Edison, NJ.
Born August 18, 1923 in Scranton, Pa, he was a daughter of the late
Edward C. Sr, and Veronica McNulty Casey.
She graduated Phillipsburg Catholic High School.
Peggy was a Pharmacist's Mate, 3rd Class and a Hospital Apprentice,
First Class in the Navy during World War Two, from 1943 to 1945. She
was proud to have served with the Navy WAVES.
She worked as a packer for the former Avery Label Co, New Brunswick
for 17 years, retiring in 1980.
Peggy loved to play bingo and cards, trips to Atlantic City and
spending time with her family. Her favorite day of the year was
attending the Casey Family Reunion, It made her so happy!
She was a member of St. Mary of the Mount Virgin Catholic Church, New
Brunswick. She was a member of St. Mary's Golden Age Club; the
American Legion Post #65, Milltown, NJ; past president of the St.
Mary's Senior Apartments Tenants Assoc., North Brunswick.
Peggy was formerly married to John T. Heiser, Jr, who died in 1964 and
then to Harold Salitz who died in 1983.
Survivors include five daughters, Nance A. Caffaro and her husband,
Tony, of North Brunswick; Margaret Pries and her husband, William, of
Las Vegas, NV; Patrice Hancock and her husband, Robert, of Toms River,
NJ; Michele Kirsch and her husband, Alan, of Somerset, NJ and June C.
Anderson and her husband, Jack, of Oak Ridge, TN; she loved every
minute she was able to spend with her 10 grandchildren, 13
great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a dear friend,
Bertha Kovacs, of North Brunswick, NJ.
A son, John T. Heiser, III; a daughter, Christine Heiser; six
brothers, Edward, Charles, Robert, Leo, John and William, Sr; and two
sisters, Mary C. Ward and Veronica Wynkoop, all died earlier.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, in the Selover Funeral
Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick, NJ. Funeral Services will
begin 9:45 a.m., Wednesday, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of
Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. in the Church, 190 Sanford Street, New
Brunswick, NJ. Committal services and military honors will be held in
the chapel of Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 State Route 27 (Lincoln
Highway) North Brunswick, NJ. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home,
Phillipsburg, NJ, is handling the funeral arrangements.

know Peggy wasn't fond of roses, but she loved white and green
carnations.
