Rosemary (Rompa) Finn passed peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 72. Born in Woodbridge she had lived in Carteret before moving to North Brunswick in 1969. Mrs. Finn had worked for Grand Union in North Brunswick for over 15 years before retiring in 2000. She was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local #1262. She was a dedicated friend who enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and spending time with her family. Her husband of 51 years Thomas R. Finn died on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. She is also predeceased by her parents Joseph and Sophie Kovacs Rompa, who came to the United States from Hungary in the 1920s, and six siblings - Margaret Scheyler, Matilda Malyar, Alexander Rompa, Arlene Palmer, Ernest Rompa and Doris Freer. Surviving are three daughters - Robin Finn of North Brunswick, Dawn Finn-Barresse of Hackettstown and Kim Kunz of Dayton; two sisters - Irene Lukach of Woodbridge and Elizabeth Ruszkai of Edison; and two grandchildren - Zsofia and Hunter Finn. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Linden. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800.
