Obituary of Joseph R. Genzanto

Joseph R. Genzanto died at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 29th. He was 81 years old. Born in New Brunswick, he had lived in Edison before moving to Howell 12 years ago. Mr. Genzanto proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He had worked at Revlon in Edison and American Standard in Piscataway before retiring in 1993 from a data processing position for Middlesex County. Mr. Genzanto was a past member of the Knights of Columbus in Edison and the B.P.O. Elks in Woodbridge. He was also a member of the Lake Champlain Association. After retiring, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Seniors First in Freehold. Mr. Genzanto was the loving husband of Domenica "Mamie" Vaticano Genzanto for 52 years. He is also survived by three daughters - Regina Harrington and her husband Joseph of Middletown, JoAnn Genzanto and her partner Carl Roell of Edison and Karen Figueroa of Spotswood; four grandchildren - Janna and Joseph Harrington and Tyler and Kyle Figueroa; sisters-in-law Pauline Jenson of Princeton and Saveria "Babe" Moore; 4 nephews - Conrad Genzanto, Mark Jenson, and James and Michael Moore, and their families; several cousins and their families; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 9:45 AM on Wednesday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by a 10:30 AM Mass at St. Mary's of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
