Obituary of Dzidra Zanders

Dzidra (Pauluks) Zanders died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at her home in Edison. She was 84. Born in Sesava, Latvia she had lived in New Brunswick before moving to Edison in 1956. She was a retail manager at Maidenform in Edison for 10 years before retiring in 1990. Prior to that she had worked at E.J. Korvettes in North Brunswick and the Boy Scouts of America in North Brunswick and New York. Mrs. Zanders was a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church of New Brunswick and Lakewood in East Brunswick. She was predeceased by a son Martins Pilegis in 1965, her first husband Karlis Pilegis in 1972 and her second husband Victor Zanders in 2011. Surviving are a son - Karlis Pilegis, Jr. of Edison; two daughters Gunta Pilegis of Edison and Daina Vitins and her husband Andrew of Elka Park, New York; a grandson Kurtis Vitins; and three sisters - Aina Platais of Canada, Liga Neimanis of Syracuse, NY and Vesma Gabliks of Brick. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.
