Obituary of Charles J. Kollar

Charles J. Kollar died Friday, October 18, 2019, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was 68. Born in New Brunswick to the late Julius P. and Lillian M. (Nicola) Kollar, he lived in North Brunswick before moving to Princeton 14 years ago. He received his bachelor degree from Seton Hall University and his law degree from the University of Baltimore. He was a partner in the law firm Rosta and Kollar in New Brunswick for over 40 years. He served as Municipal Judge in North Brunswick from 1982 to 2002. Charles was an avid sports enthusiast. He was a Yankees fan and attended the Yankees Fantasy Camp many times. He enjoyed thoroughbred horseracing and was an expert handicapper. He also loved walking in the woods with his dog, cooking, traveling, wine collecting and playing tennis. Surviving are his wife of 45 years Susan (Yarchover) Kollar; two daughters Katie Kollar and her husband Martin Leitgeb of Wels, Austria and Lauren Kollar and her husband Algernon Quashie of Brooklyn, NY; his brother Jules Kollar of New Brunswick; and two grandchildren – Lucas and Maebel. A gathering of family and friends will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday morning at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick with a memorial service to be held at 11:00 AM.
